Group expense splitter & party game tools

Privacy

Privacy

The short version: the tools run in your browser, nothing you type is sent to us, and there are no accounts or cookies.

What you type

Names, amounts, dates, stories and menus are processed by JavaScript in your browser. The site has no server code and no database, so we never receive them.

What is saved in your browser

So your work is still there when you come back, some tools save it in your browser’s local storage, on your device only:

  • friendfete-tally: the expense splitter’s people and expenses.
  • friendfete-house: the holiday house split.
  • friendfete-lr-own: a left-right story you wrote yourself.
  • friendfete-dice-custom: your house-rules card for the dice game.
  • friendfete-poll: a find-a-date poll you organise and the codes you pasted; friendfete-answer- followed by a poll ID: your own answers to a poll.
  • friendfete-fg: the Friendsgiving planner’s guests and dishes.
  • friendfete-theme: your light or dark choice.

Each tool has a button to clear or start again, and clearing this site’s data in your browser settings removes all of it.

Links and codes you share

A share link from the expense splitter or the holiday house split, an invitation link from find-a-date, and an answer code all contain your data: names, amounts or answers. In a link it sits after the #, which browsers do not send to the web server when the page loads. But anyone you send the link or code to can read it, and so can the chat or email service that carries it, so share them as you would share the same details in a message. They are not encrypted.

Analytics

The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which Cloudflare adds to pages served from its network. It counts page views and basic technical details such as the browser and country, does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and never receives what you type into the tools.

Cookies, fonts and other services

Friend Fête does not use cookies. Fonts and scripts are served from this site, not from third-party services, and the tools make no network requests of their own. Links to other websites, including the sister sites and the two recommended services, take you to sites with their own privacy policies.
